Verona

Italy’s home to the most famous lovers in history, Romeo and Juliet, Verona is the second largest city in Veneto after Venice and is one of the best preserved in Italy. Not to be missed is the Roman Amphitheater, or The Arena, built between the first and third century. The Roman theatre was built during the Roman Empire and could house more than 22,000 spectators. During the summer, famous operas are performed here. In front of the Arena is the Piazza Bra; a huge square with bars, restaurants and shops. Verona is one of the richest cities in northern Italy. Some of the most fashionable boutiques can be found on Via Mazzini as well as a vibrant market on the grounds of a Roman Empire Forum.
