In Germany’s Wernigerode’s town centre there are Lower Saxon style timber framed houses, a neo-Gothic castle and the Harzer-Kultur-und-Kongresszentrum, a complex of several halls and conference rooms where you will find “The Walk of the Planets” and the Remise of the Art and Culture Association. The Wildpark Christianental sits below the castle and is a popular recreation and relaxation spot. Wernigerode is also a popular place for hikers and provides an ideal base for nature trips and hikes up the Harz Mountains or the Harz National Park. The Brocken Mountain is the highest summit in northern Germany and visitors can take a train ride to the top
